- Quality vs. Quantity
TABOR Capital Conferences is a family office / alternative investment conference organizer. We are meticulous in our work and our small size allows us to have personal relationships with all of our attendees.
We take great pride in hosting events that are both exclusive and smaller in size, thus allowing for meaningful discussions and many opportunities to foster new relationships.
Quality is our top priority! We screen all interested attendees and continuously monitor our participants to ensure the standard of each event remains at the highest level. Our events are by invitation only, and we cap each event at 50 family offices and 25-30 investment managers. We also plan to invite 10 endowments and foundations to this conference.

About the Founder

After attending dozens of family office and alternative investment conferences over the course of nearly a decade, Troy Johns, Founder and Managing Partner of TABOR Capital Conferences, decided to develop a more effective and valuable conference platform. Troy has more than 20 years of business experience and has had the opportunity to work both here in the United States and internationally in the Cayman Islands. He graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1995 and passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam in 1997. He then began his professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Business Assurance Auditor and an Information Technology Consultant. In addition, he was one of Dun & Bradstreet’s top sales representatives from 1999 - 2000, winning the Firm’s rookie of the year award, along with being the Firm’s #1 sales representative in the Pacific Region before moving to the Cayman Islands. In Grand Cayman, Troy was one of four people selected by KPMG to start an offshore e-security firm. He then returned to Dun & Bradstreet in 2002 where he was the #2 salesperson in the country for the Firm's premier risk assessment software. Following Dun & Bradstreet, he transitioned into the alternative investment world and has had the opportunity to work for several hedge funds, both domestically and in the Cayman Islands. Troy understands what it takes to operate a hedge fund and raise significant capital. For nine years he raised money for a diverse group of alternative investment funds while also overseeing many different operational, compliance and finance functions. During his career he has been able to develop hundreds of relationships, and he prides himself on taking the time to understand the needs of his conference attendees. The information that Troy gathers from his network of actively investing Family Offices, Endowments and Foundations allows him to reverse engineer the Manager selection process, thus only inviting the most desirable Managers to the TABOR Conferences. His disciplined approach has allowed him to develop an efficient and effective conference model, which has been very well received by TABOR attendees. He has hosted 13 TABOR Family Office Conferences since launching the Firm in 2012.
